Romanian expedition reached the summit of Nanga Parbat

Romanian team comprised of Zsolt Török, Marius Gane, Aurel Sălășan and Vlad Teo succeeded, on July 19th 2013, in their ascent on Nanga Parbat on Schell route, Rupal face, a premiere for a Romanian expedition.

The team, having SIF Banat-Crișana amongst their sponsors, did not use supplemental oxygen or Sherpas, the brave expeditionaries equipped the full route by themselves, while being the only expedition on the mountain.

Nanga Parbat (literally, Naked Mountain in Urdu), or Diamir (Fairy Realm) is the ninth highest mountain in the world, its altitude of 8,125 meters placing it as the second highest peak in Pakistan.
